will you be my Quaran-tine? (date night ideas)

I can’t believe it’s already Valentine’s Day, but here we are! since we’re on day 4898673 of quarantine, and we decided to celebrate at home again this year, I thought I’d share a couple ideas of how to set up two super cute and easy at-home Valentine’s Day specials!

Ronak’s not big on celebrating Valentine’s Day (like most men lol), so I planned both of these ideas knowing he’d appreciate them much more because we would be able to intimately enjoy them together, in the comfort of our own home. 🙂

1. My Love For You Is Bottomless

This year I planned a brunch, and I’d say it was a successful hit! I LOVE brunch (literally any time, any day – who doesn’t!?) and I think Ronak enjoys the food but generally doesn’t care to go out for it haha. So this was perfect! I made these ah-mazing air-fried donuts at home (thank you Myhealthydish for posting that super simple recipe! I also made half donuts and half regular biscuits out of one Pilsbury biscuit package), spread out some mini waffles (#LeggoMyEggo!), and whipped up scrambled eggs and Morningstar bacon strips! Then I added in the fix-in’s and wah-lah! A brunch charcuterie board, if you will 😉 Plus…bottomless mimosas (sans the juice…)? Sign. Me. Up.

Btw if you enjoy making charcuterie boards at home, I HIGHLY suggest ordering this brown butcher paper roll and making your life a whole lot easier! I don’t have a huge charcuterie board yet, but I’m not really itching to get one either cause…that seems like it’d be a pain to store haha. And this butcher paper makes cleaning up SO easy. Plus – you can write directly on it if you want!

2. We Roll Together Like A Couple Pieces of Sushi

Last year for Valentine’s Day, I planned a little at-home make your own sushi night for Ronak and me – and we both loved it! I got this sushi making kit from Amazon that came with all the basic essentials you’d need to roll your own sushi. The little sushi bazooka was my favorite! Haha it wasn’t the most effective, we ended up just rolling the sushi on our own after a few tries with the bazooka.

I got a ton of “sushi” ingredients and made sticky sushi rice – which is easier than you’d think! Then I handmade little menu cards and set up our table with some candles and simple flowers. 🙂

It was certainly a hit and Ronak and I both enjoyed a night of good conversations, sushi, and wine – all in the comfort of our own little apartment!

A few other ideas…

  • Movie kinda love – make a super cozy living room set up with tons of pillows, blankets, some popcorn, dessert, wine, and of course – y’all’s favorite romcom/movie/TV show!
  • I love you to pizzas! – get some pizza dough/pizza crust and cut up some ingredients (what you both like!) and make-your-own pizza together with your favorite wine
  • Paint me like one of your French girls – (jk! lol) get two canvas boards from your local art supply store, with a few different paint colors, and paint brushes; find an image online or go abstract and paint something cute for each other!

So…what was your favorite idea?! Or what’s something cute you and your significant other have done for each other in the past for Valentine’s Day or a date night? I’d love to know in the comments below. 🙂
