If you are looking for a cute and easy weekend getaway, only about an hour away from Philly, then Seaview Hotel is just the place for you! We wanted something with minimal planning, and not too far from home, for our anniversary this year and Seaview delivered just that. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and we got a chance to relax during our time there!
Seaview, A Dolce Hotel:
Nestled away only minutes from Atlantic City in Galloway, NJ, is this stunning property that opened its doors as just a private golf club back in 1914. Since then, it’s become one of the most popular seaside resort hotels on the Jersey Shore.
As we drove through the main gates and up to the hotel’s main driveway, we immediately got a feel for the overall elegance of the resort. We were greeted by the hotel concierge, who led us past the impressive lobby to the check-in desk where we were able to quickly check-in, unload our luggage, and settle right in. The staff at this hotel is incredibly friendly and helpful, and very accommodating!
Speaking of accommodating, one of our favorite parts of this resort is that it is dog friendly! We were able to bring Austin with us on his very first hotel-stay, and he did so well! As previously mentioned, the hotel staff was super nice – especially to Austin! 🙂
Where to Dine:
Seaview has a few different dining options on site to choose from! There are also several restaurants and bars not too far from the hotel to enjoy that I’ve listed below as well:
- The Grille – an onsite restaurant with a fast-casual feel, great for a quick bite while watching the game! We enjoyed lunch here right after check-in, and it was great!
- Main Dining Hall – an onsite grand dining room where breakfast and dinner are served daily. This room can also host a beautiful and intimate reception or dinner party!
- Lobby Bar – our favorite onsite spot to grab a drink, this gorgeous bar has a few TVs, bar tables with outlets, and a variety of comfy couch seating for lounging in. You can also order food from The Grille directly here!
- White House Sub Shop
- Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall
- Tomasello Winery
- Hidden Sands Brewery
Things to Do:
- Play Golf – Seaview was created as a private golf course, so that in itself speaks to its amazing courses! It has not one, but two, great courses you can play on! We got to play a round on The Pines Course, but we hope to play on The Bay Course next time we visit!
- Take a Walk Around the Property – with or without a dog, the entire property has a walkway all around for you to take a nice long walk! It’s relaxing and scenic, and Austin definitely enjoyed it. We also loved that they had poop bags for dog owners conveniently placed on these trails in case you forgot or ran out!
- Enjoy an Espresso Martini at the Lobby Bar – okay, it doesn’t have to be an espresso martini (although, they make them SO well!), but I could’ve sat at the Lobby Bar all day! I enjoyed doing some work there, while sipping on a drink, and watching Sunday football with Ronak. It was great! They also have cute fire-pits set up outside that you can enjoy some evening drinks at 🙂
- Check out the onsite Noyes Gallery – located next to the golf shop and fitness center
- Work out at the onsite fitness center – open 24 hours!
- Take a dip in their original indoor pool (built in 1914!) – it’s so pretty, and I love that it’s indoors and can be enjoyed during cooler temps also!
- Hit the Slots in Atlantic City – AC is only about a 15 minute drive from Seaview, so you can easily do a day trip to Atlantic City and enjoy all that it has to offer!
- Historic Smithville – 5 minute drive down the road with cute stores and antique shops!
- Visit Lucy the Elephant in Margate City
- Edwin B Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge – just a few minutes of a drive down the road from Seaview, with beautiful walking paths and hiking trails
Overall, we really enjoyed our anniversary weekend at Seaview! A very special thank you to Seaview and Punch Media for sponsoring our stay 🙂
I hope you’re thinking of planning a weekend getaway to Seaview now! I know we are definitely planning on getting back there next summer when the weather is warmer and we can go down to the beach as well 🙂
